Product care
Product care
I make my products to stand the test of time. This weekender is crafted from a durable, natural leather which will only look better with age.
However, you can give your weekender some extra TLC by:
- Wiping any dirt from the surface of the leather with a damp cloth.
- Buffing out small scruffs or scratches from wear using a cotton cloth. This brings the natural oils to the surface of the leather.
- Feeding the leather with Original Sedgwick Leathercare to protect and replenish the natural oils in the hide. Please note that this product will slightly darken the colour of the leather permanently.

More information
The Heritage Weekender. A tough, handmade travel bag built for weekends away. This limited run uses Waxy Commander leather from Charles F. Stead in Leeds. For a personal fit, you can choose your shoulder strap length at no extra cost.
The design is functional and solid: leather bound seams, hand-dyed edges, and a bridle leather base that nods back to my falconry roots. Inside, one large open compartment makes packing simple, with a pocket for smaller kit and eyelets for attaching extras.
Every bag is made in my Lincolnshire workshop, using proven materials and traditional techniques. Strong enough for the field, smart enough for the city.
Handmade from the best materials
I source leathers from tanneries with history behind them. This Weekender is made from Waxy Commander by Charles F. Stead in Leeds - a heavy waxed suede usually used for boots. The hides are shrunk during tanning, tightening the fibres and giving the leather its strength. The wax finish makes it fully waterproof and tough enough for real use outdoors. Straight out of the box it starts to pick up a patina you won’t find anywhere else.
The handles, strap, and base are made from bridle leather by J. & E. Sedgwick, known for supplying the equestrian trade with some of the toughest leather in Britain. For the hardware, I use solid brass fittings cast by Abbey England, a foundry that’s been at it since 1832.
Every part of the bag is chosen to last and to get better with use.
Designed to stand the test of time
I choose leathers that will last, and that can perform out in the elements. For the Weekender, that means a tough hide that holds its shape and only looks better with age. My choices are shaped by time outdoors - the bag needs to handle the British weather, a day in the field, or being thrown in the back of a Land Rover, and still come up looking right.
I choose leathers that are made to be strong and full of character, solid brass hardware that won’t rust, and bridle leather that’s proven to perform in demanding conditions. With real world use, your bag will pick up its own marks and patina - that’s not damage, that’s your story written into it.
Made in England
Each Weekender is made start to finish in my workshop in Grantham.
Every design begins at the workbench, mocked up and tested until it works in practice, not just on paper. Once the prototype proves itself out in the real world, production can begin.
Proudly made here in-house - no shortcuts.
